Call for Reflections on Faith, Justice & Transformation

Side with Love is a campaign of the UUA invested in providing culturally relevant and spiritual nourishing resources alongside affirming and resourcing leading edges within Unitarian Universalism and secular movement organizing. This Spring, we are excited to work with Black Lives of UU to share justice, spiritual and theological reflections and conversations from across Unitarian Universalism. We are looking for reflections (stories, testimonies, poetry, art) from Black Unitarian Universalists about faith, justice, nourishment and transformation to share as Side with Love (via this website and social media platforms) through the BLUU Revival and into General Assembly 2018.

What is the anticipated process for participating

  • We’re looking for folks who indicated being interested to submit one piece for us share via the Side with Love facebook, twitter and website with credit. Participants who have been contacted will then be asked for their mailing address, appropriate name for check to be made out to and we’ll drop $100 in a check to you. We imagine it will also be shared via BLUU communications channels as well.

How will information shared be used?

  • We are happy to share as much or as little that folks like about them along with their submission. For folks who submit, the content will be shared via Side with Love’s website and social media platforms and live on within the website.

What formats will content be accepted in?

  • For written work, a word document is preferred. For visual art, a high resolution JPEG or PNG is sufficient. We will share a dropbox folder with you directly for submissions that require larger storage space.

How many submissions will you accept from one person?

  • We’re hoping to be able to feature many people, so anticipate limiting publishing one submission per person. If folks have more than one they have already created they would want us to choose from, we can do that. We also hope this builds capacity and commitment for longer term collaboration with creatives like yourselves.
