In-Person Event: Free Documentary Film Screening UUTV: Local Event June 24, 2025 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM PT UU Church of Verdugo Hills at 4451 Dunsmore Ave., La Crescenta, CA 91214 YOU’RE INVITED The Unitarian Universalist Church of Verdugo Hills is hosting a screening and fundraiser for the 50-minute documentary Braver Angels: Reuniting America. About the Documentary: Eight Democratic-leaning voters and seven Republican-leaning voters move through a Braver Angels signature Red/Blue workshop in Waynesville, Ohio. They move from initial skepticism to a more profound understanding and empathy. Viewers get an inside look at how a Democratic voter went from threatening to cut off relationships with Trump voters to becoming dear friends with one—and how a Republican voter moved from disdaining progressives to taking co-leadership with one in a movement that now spans the country. Directed by four-time Emmy award-winner Jim Brown and produced by musician Peter Yarrow.

With UU the Vote we’re organizing on the state and local levels to fight for fair elections, advance voting rights, protect abortion access, and resist the targeting and criminalization of Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities.

There is so much at stake with each election. Together, our communities can address the current threats to our democracy and human dignity.
